The body of lorry driver Sahadat Hossain, who remained missing since the fire in Sitakunda’s container depot, has been found in ward 19 of the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Sunday evening.
Sahadat Hossain, son of late Shah Alam of Jorarganj union of Mirsarai upazila, has been driving a lorry on the Dhaka-Chittagong route for a long time.
Shahinur Hossain, a member of Ward 7 of the Jorarganj union, said, “Shahadat is my cousin. He went to BM Depot with his lorry to load goods on Saturday night. We heard the news of the fire at the depot around 10:00pm. Since then his mobile phone has been switched off.”

He remained untraced till Sunday noon. Later, his body was identified in ward 19 of Chittagong Medical College Hospital in the evening. Preparations are underway to bring his body home, he added.
Meanwhile, the news of Sahadat’s death in the Sitakunda tragedy has cast a shadow of mourning over the entire area.
