Two people were killed after a motorcycle lost control and crashed into a road divider in the capital’s Hatirjheel area.
The incident took place near Modhubagh intersection at around 10:15am on Monday, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Sajib Koch of Hatirjheel police station.
The deceased have been identified as Md Mamun, 25, and pillion Fahim Hossain, 20.
Md Mamun lost control of the motorcycle and hit a divider in the middle of the road, SI Sajib said.
Mamun died on the spot while Fahim succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Fahim’s paternal uncle told Dhaka Tribune that he used to work as a painter. He was headed towards his workplace in the morning.
The bodies are currently kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
