An officer of the Bangladesh Navy was killed as a truck hit his motorcycle near the Khulna-Mongla Highway in Khulna late on Tuesday.
Lieutenant Firoj Mia was headed to Mongla when a truck coming from the opposite direction ran over him, killing him on the spot, said Chulkathi police outpost In-Charge Md Oliar Rahman.
Locals later tracked down the truck driver and turned him over to the police.
Lt Firoj Mia was stationed at the BNS Mongla naval base.
