Trawler capsize: Body of another fisherman recovered, 11 still missing

The body of another fisherman, who went missing after several trawlers capsized in the Bay of Bengal during a storm on Friday, was recovered on Monday.

The deceased could not be identified yet.

Members of Coast Guard, Forest Department officials and local fishermen conducted a rescue operation for the third consecutive day on Monday in Dublar Char area and recovered the body, said the in-charge of Dublar Char Forest camp.

The bodies of three fishermen have been recovered so far.

On Sunday, members of the Coast Guard recovered bodies of Mamun Sheikh, 40, and Ismail Khan, 36, from the Bay.

Earlier, the Coast Guard members rescued three fishermen hours after several trawlers sank during a sudden storm.

Ten fishing trawlers sank within 8 kilometers of Dublar Char and 8 fishing trawlers capsized in different areas of the Bay of Bengal, 45 kilometers off Dublar Char.

Over 150 fishermen were rescued while 14 others went missing.
