A motorcyclist was killed in Khulna on Sunday after he accidentally slided under a truck while trying to save a pedestrian.
The incident was reported from the Khulna-Jessore new road intersection, said Sub-Inspector Jamruzzaman of Daulatpur police.
The deceased was identified as Prashant Kumar Bala, 40. His co-passenger Sujit Biswas, 25, sustained injuries.
The motorcycle slipped and went under the truck while trying to save a pedestrian, who was crossing the street, and Prashanta died on the spot.
The pedestrian was left unharmed.
Injured Sujit is under treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Police seized the truck but the driver managed to escape.
