Two people were killed and another injured after a truck hit them in Mymensingh’s Gafargaon upazila on Saturday.
The incident took place on Gafargaon-Bhaluka road of the upazila in the afternoon, said Gafargaon police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Faruk Ahmed.
The deceased were identified as Majeda Khatun, 55, and Bakula Khatun, 45.
They were getting off an autorickshaw parked on the roadside when a sand-laden truck hit them, leaving Majeda dead on the spot, said the OC.
The other injured were rushed to the hospital, where Bakula was announced dead on arrival. Helal is undergoing treatment at the Upazila Health Complex, he added.
Police have seized the truck but the driver managed to escape.
