The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested four persons with 24kg of crystal meth, commonly known as ice, near the Ukhiya-Palangkhali border in Cox's Bazar.
The consignment was seized during a raid at the border around 9pm on Saturday.
RAB claimed that this is the biggest shipment of this drug seized in the country. "RAB seized 24kg of crystal meth, which is the highest amount of this drug seized in the country's history, near Palangkhali border in Cox's Bazar," RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Khandaker Al Moin said.
The arrestees include "the godfather" of the "ice trade," and all four are being interrogated, he said.
Details will be given at a press conference at the RAB-15 office in Cox's Bazar at 11am on Sunday, added the RAB official.
