Four people, including a woman and her daughter, were hit and killed by a train while another was injured in Kalihati upazila of Tangail early Wednesday.
The deceased were Basanti, 60, Arti Rani Das, 55, Shanti Rani, 45, and her daughter Shilpi Rani, 30.
Bangabandhu Bridge East police station SI Nazmul said the Dhaka-bound Ekota Express struck them when they were walking towards Salla on the train tracks, leaving them dead on the spot.
