RUJA gets new executive body

A 15-member executive body of Rajshahi University Journalist Association (RUJA) has been formed for the year 2023-24.

Tousif Kaium of Bangla Tribune and Abdus Sabur Lotus of Daily Kalbela were nominated as president and general secretary respectively.

The organization's former president and Rajshahi Bureau chief of Dainik Bangla Anaet Karim on Tuesday night announced the committee at their office at the central library building of the university.

The other nominated office bearers are vice-presidents Md Saifur Rahman of DBC News and Noman Emtiaz of Naya Shatabdi, joint general secretary Shohanur Rahman Rafi of United News of Bangladesh (UNB), treasurer Aditya Ray Ripon of ‘Ajker Patrika', organising secretary Asif Azad Siyam of ‘Dainik Bangla' and office secretary Irfan Tamim of ‘Dhaka Mail'.

Also, Golam Rabbil of Daily Kaler Kantha became publication and publicity affairs secretary, Arpon Dhar of Sokaler Somoy literature and cultural affairs secretary, Abdul Ahad of New Age sports Secretary, Sazzad Hossen of ‘silkcitynews.com' planning and programs affairs secretary.

The elected executive members are Mir Kadir, Sazid Hossain, and SI Sumon.

Mehedi Hassan Akash and Mariam Poli became honourable members of the organization.

RUJA outgoing president Nuruzzaman Khan and general secretary Noor Alam will act as advisers to the committee.

Meanwhile, Rajshahi University high-ups authorities as well as all journalism, political, socio-political and voluntary organisations of the university welcomed the new executive body.

RUJA was established in 1969.
