The driver who ran over a family of three including a pregnant woman that led to the birth of a newborn, did not have a license to drive heavy vehicles, according to the Rapid Action Battalion.
“The tax token and the fitness certificate of the vehicle was also expired,” RAB spokesperson Khandaker Al Moin said during a media call on Tuesday.
RAB said that the truck had a capacity of carrying seven ton but during the accident, it was carrying 13.3 ton.

According to the RAB official, driver Raju Ahmed Shipon, who was arrested yesterday, used to be a bus driver’s assistant.
He sustained leg injuries during an accident and has been driving trucks for the last 10 years.
On July 15, set out for Kishoreganj from Chapainawabganj carrying mangoes at around 12am.
When he reached the Trishal bus-stand, he ran over Jahangir Alam, his pregnant wife and daughter.
“After the accident locals stopped the truck. Raju, in a bid to avoid arrest, escaped and got on a Dhaka-bound bus,” said Moin.
He added that he got down at Mymensingh bypass and took a CNG to Muktagacha from where he went to Tangail’s Elenga.
“Raju had been hiding on trucks until he was arrested from Savar on Monday,” the RAB official said, citing information found during primary questioning.
On Saturday, a girl child was born during a road accident that left three of her family members including her parents dead on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
The tragic accident occurred around 2:30pm near the Court Building area in Trishal upazila.
While crossing the highway, a speeding Mymenshingh-bound truck knocked down, Jahangir Alam, his wife Ratna Begum and their daughter, leaving all three family members dead on the spot.
Following the accident, Jahangir’s father Mostafizur Rahman filed a case with Trishal police.
Jahangir leaves behind two other children along with the newborn who is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
