A woman gave birth to a baby boy on her way to Dhaka on a train from Rajshahi yesterday.
Parul, wife of Titu from Rajshahi district, gave birth on the Silk City Express around 11:30am.
Shawkat Jamil Mohsin, railway’s Dhaka divisional commercial officer (DCO), confirmed the matter to UNB.
He said Parul, the mother of the newborn, was travelling alone as her husband was in Dhaka. Passengers at the train assisted her during her labour.
Parul's husband received her and the child at Dhaka Station and both mother and child are doing well, said DCO Shawkat Jamil.
