An army personnel has been killed after a head-on collision between a private car and a motorcycle in Gopalganj.
The incident was reported in Kashiani on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway around 7am on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Imran Hossain, son of Manik Mollah in Jessore’s Baghapara Upazila.
Imran was serving at the 5RE Battalion in Postogola under the 10th Infantry Division’s Engineering Battalion 4.
He was on way to his hometown in Jessore on his motorcycle, confirmed Bhanga Highway Police Inspector Abu Nayeem Md Mofazzal Haque.
According to the inspector, Imran was severely injured in the accident.
Locals rushed him to the 100-bed hospital in Kashiani where doctors declared him dead.
Police seized the private car but the driver fled the scene.
