Police have recovered the body of an eight-year-old girl, who is suspected to be killed after rape in Naogaon’s Bhalain Union.
The body was recovered from a bush at Lakshmipur village on Saturday night, after locals informed the police, said Union Parishad (UP) Member Harun-ur-Rashid.
“People were busy as a religious ceremony was going on in the village. The girl was nowhere to be found since 4pm that day,” he added.
Locals suspect that she was raped before being killed as her mouth was stuffed with clothes and her body was found bare.
