A day laborer has been died in an attack by a wild elephant at Banshkhali Upazila in Chittagong.
The deceased was identified as Ratan Dey, 52, son of Sukumar Dey of Sadhanpur Union.
Family members recovered his mutilated body from the Kumar Jom Hill area at 12:30pm on Friday.

Ratan went to the hilly area on Thursday morning to pick flowers for worshipping. As he did not return home that night, his family members began looking for him.
On Friday, they discovered the body in the Razakarghona hills of Kumar Jom's area.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Saiduzzaman Chowdhury said Tk20,000 had been given for the deceased's funeral. “The Forest Department will also provide his family with Tk1 lakh as compensation,” he added.
