Some police members of Sreebordi police station in Sherpur were suspended as they failed to prevent a murder that had happened in their presence at Haluaghat village recently.
A video of the murder went viral on Facebook on Sunday.
Sherpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Hasan Nahid on Tuesday told the media that actions had been taken against the murder-witnessing police members before the video went viral.
The suspended members of police told their superior officers that they had been shocked and scared by the abruptness of the attack, he said, terming it an unprofessional act.
Though the victim's family did not make any complaint against those police members, a departmental investigation committee was formed to analyze the modus operandi of those police members during that murder incident. The investigation is still underway.

The viral video, which was actually recorded on March 23, shows Shekhbor Ali, 45, of Haluaghat village in Sreebordi being murdered with sharp weapons by Ziko Mia of the same village and his proponents, over a land dispute.
Sub-inspector (SI) Warez of Sreebordi police station and his force were present at the crime scene.
The next day, police arrested six accused based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s younger brother, who complained against 39 individuals for the murder.
