A 36-year-old police constable was crushed under the wheels of a bus on Dhaka-Khulna Highway on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Ilias Hossain of Fakirhat model police station.
Md Alimuzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) Fakirhat model police station, said the Khulna-bound bus hit the motorcycle of Ilias and ran over him at Kakdanga intersection around 11am, leaving him dead on spot.
Later, his body was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
Legal action would be taken in this regard, the official added.
