A Jubo League activist was hacked to death in broad daylight in Jhenaidah municipality area on Sunday.
The deceased, Abon Hossain, 42, was a former Jubo League leader.
Sheikh Md Sohel Rana, Jhenaidah Sadar police station officer-in-charge, confirmed the matter.
Abon was on his way home from Jhenaidah town when he was attacked by his political rivals, alleged Hasibul Islam, the brother of the deceased.
He added that the miscreants hacked him mercilessly and left him injured.
He was rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.
The OC said that Abon’s body was sent to the morgue and they were investigating the matter.
