A man was killed in a road accident in the Rupganj Technical College area under Baliadangi Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Hamidur Rahman, 40, an accountant at Baliadangi Technical College.
Baliadangi Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khairul Kabir Don said the accident took place when Hamidur Rahman was going to Baliadangi Bazar with his daughter on a motorcycle that collided head-on with an electric pole-laden van coming from the opposite direction in the area around noon, leaving him critically injured on the spot.
Local people rescued Hamidur and took him to the Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
The body was handed over to the family, the OC added.
A case was filed in this connection.
