Thakurgaon 2 lawmaker Md Dabirul Islam was injured in a road accident in Amjankhor area of Baliadangi on Tuesday afternoon.
His eldest son Majharul Islam Shujon confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
“My father’s car got into an accident on the way to Paria from Harinmari around 4pm,” Shujon said.
The MP was rushed to Baliadangi Upazila Health Complex with minor injuries. He is now undergoing treatment at home, according to Dr Mithun Chandra of the hospital.
“A rickshaw van suddenly appeared in front of my car. When I yelled to stop the car to save the van driver, my driver lost control and the car fell into a ditch,” Dabirul Islam told Dhaka Tribune.
“I was injured but now I am doing fine,” he added.
