Small ethnic group children in CHT get books in own language

Children of the minor races in Rangamati have received books printed in their own languages this year. 

A total of 64,000 books were distributed among 28,748 students of Chakma, Marma and Tripura communities maintaining proper Covid-19 health guidelines on Saturday. 

The free books were printed in Chakma, Marma and Tripura languages this year.

According to the Rangamati District Primary Education Office, a total of 890,000 books were allocated for the secondary schools and 379,000 for the primary schools in the district. 

Officials say they received a sufficient number of books and distributed them as per government instructions. 

Md Rabiul Islam, assistant primary education officer in Rangamati, said that they had received most of the books while the rest would arrive soon.
