A case has been filed in connection with the rape of a seven-year-old Rohingya child at a shelter in Bhasan Char of Noakhali.
On Monday noon, the child's father filed the case with Bhasan Char police station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act 1995, accusing an unidentified person.
According to Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shahidul Islam, the Rohingya child lives in Bhasan Char Asrayan Project-3.
She was playing with other children in the 14th cluster area on Monday. At around 11:30am, an unidentified man lured the child into room number H-12 of an empty cluster and raped her.
Another Rohingya child found the girl unconscious in the room and informed her family.
The father rescued her and rushed her to Bhasan Char General Hospital. Doctors sent her to Noakhali General Hospital due to excessive bleeding.

The child later said that she would be able to recognize the rapist if she saw him, said Bhasan Char police OC Md Rafiqul Islam.
In Barisal, a fourth grader has been fighting for life after being raped in Bakerganj upazila on Sunday.
The child was admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barisal in critical condition on Sunday night. From there, she was sent to the hospital's One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) on Monday afternoon.
The accused is neighbour Shah Alam, 32, of Charamaddi Union.
According to the child's family, Shah Alam called the child to his house to cut vegetables. He then raped the child when no one was at the house. When the child returned home, she started bleeding.
At one point, she became seriously ill. Later in the night, her relatives admitted her to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barisal.
OC Md Alauddin of Bakerganj police said that they did not get any written complaint.
