Covid-19: 16 more deaths reported in Barisal division

Sixteen more people died from Covid-19 in Barisal Division in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning. Of them, eleven people died with only symptoms. 

At the same time, 685 people tested positive for Covid.

This was confirmed by the divisional Health Director Dr Basudeb Kumar Das on Sunday morning.

In the last 24 hours, 11 patients with symptoms passed away at the Covid isolation ward of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBCMH), while 5 others passed away in different parts of the division.

Of the deceased, two had died in Barisal, one in Patuakhali, one in Bhola, and one in Barguna.

With the latest tally in, the total death toll in the division now stands at 474.

At the same time, 685 people were affected by covid, raising the Covid caseload in Barisal to 33,829. 

Of the new cases, 253 were diagnosed in Barisal district,137 in Patuakhali, 87 in Bhola, 85 in Pirojpur, 86 in Barguna, and 77 in Jhalakathi.

said11 people with symptoms passed away in the hospital’s isolation ward, in the past 24 hours.

The hospital is currently treating Covid patients. Of them, 147 are in the corona ward and 206 are in the isolation ward.

The rt-PCR lab in the SBMCH tested 226 samples during the same period of time, with a test positivity rate of 31.41%.
