A total of 793 more people tested Covid positive while 34 people died in the Khulna division in the last 24 hours, taking the total caseload to 92,361 and the death to 2,369, said health officials on Friday.
Of the total deaths, the highest number has been recorded in Khulna with 620, followed by 548 in Kushtia, 341 in Jessore, 199 in Jhenaidah, 159 in Chuadanga, 136 in Meherpur, 122 in Bagerhat, 92 in Narail, 85 in Satkhira, and 67 in Magura, said Dr Jashim Uddin Howlader, divisional director of Health.
Of the afresh death, eight each are in Khulna and Kushtia, seven in Jessore, two in Chuadanga, one each in Bagerhat, Satkhira, Narail and Meherpur in the division.
The new daily infection figure also shows a decline compared to the previous day's figure of 1,019 said the health department sources, adding that the figure was 866 on Wednesday.
