4 people arrested with 6,500 yaba pills in stomach

About 6,500 yaba tablets have been recovered from four bus passengers, including two women, in Comilla while carrying the contraband items in their stomachs.

Comilla Superintendent of Police Farooq Ahmed said that a search was carried out by the police on a Saudia Paribahan bus at Daudkandi Toll Plaza on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Comilla yesterday night. 

The bus was headed toward Dhaka from Chittagong. During the search, four suspicious passengers were questioned. 

The arrested passengers are Wahidul Sikder, 42, from Balakair village in Gopalganj district; Md Abdul Baten, 41, from Keraniganj in Dhaka; Josna Akter, 35, wife of Waliullah in Khaskandi village in Sirajdi upazila of Munshiganj; and Hosna Akhter, 25, wife of Sabuj Mia in BSIC Balur Math area of Kanchpura upazila in Narayanganj.

After extensive questioning, the four passengers admitted that they had yaba tablets in their stomachs, in tablet-shaped scotch tape-wrapped packets. The four were later taken to a private hospital in Comilla for X-rays. 

Packets of yaba tablets were found in the stomachs of three of them.

DB police SI Parimal Chandra Das filed a case against the accused with Comilla Kotwali Model police station.
