Six more persons died of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours raising the total number of deaths to 74 in the district of Chapainawabganj.
The number of Covid-19 cases climbed to 3,168 as 35 more people were detected positive after testing 371 samples in the district during this period taking the infection rate to 16.16%, according to sources at the district Civil Surgeon’s Office.
Of the new fatalities, five are reported from Sadar upazila and one from Gomostapur upazila.
Among the newly detected patients, 11 people are from Sadar upazila, three from Shibganj upazila, 15 from Gomostapur upazila, four from Nachol upazila and two from Bholahat upazila.
A total of 1,294 patients, of which 72 in dedicated Covid-19 hospital and others in home quarantine, are undergoing treatment in the district while 1,800 patients have so far been recovered from the deadly disease here, the sources added.
