65-year-old Pabna man arrested for raping 10-year-old boy

Police have arrested a 65-year-old man for allegedly raping a 10-year-old boy two days ago in Pabna’s Chatmohar.

The arrestee was identified as Shamser Ali, 65.

Shamser raped the boy on Saturday and was arrested by police later that day from Char Sengram, where he lives.

The third grader’s family also filed a case against him at Chatmohar police station Saturday night.

According to the locals and police, Shamser came to his son-in-law Bazlur Rahman’s house at Choto Shalikha neighbourhood a few days back.

On Saturday afternoon, he went to Arman Ali's house, next to Bazlur’s house, and found Arman’s grandson home alone.

According to case details, Shamser then took the boy into a room, tied his mouth and hands, and violated him. He fled the scene when a woman saw the incident and screamed for help.

The injured child was later admitted to Chatmohar Upazila Health Complex, where his medical examination was also conducted.

Police on Sunday presented Shamser in front of a court and it sent him to jail pending investigation, said Chatmohar police OC Md Aminul Islam.
