BNP chief Khaleda Zia was transferred to a cabin from the coronary care unit (CCU) at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.
Shairul Kabir Khan, member of the BNP chairperson’s press wing, confirmed the matter to Bangla Tribune.
The 76-year-old former premier, who tested positive for Covid-19 twice in April, was admitted to the hospital on April 27 for a thorough health check-up.
On April 28, a 10-member medical board, headed by Prof Shahabuddin Talukder, was formed to provide Khaleda Zia with medical care.
She was shifted to the CCU of the hospital with shortness of breath on May 3.

Later, her family submitted an application to the government on May 6 seeking permission to send her abroad for advanced treatment, but it was turned down as a convict is not entitled to do so.
She tested negative for Covid-19 on May 8, but was still suffering from some complications.
Amid the Covid-19 outbreak, the government freed her from jail for six months through an executive order suspending her sentences on March 25 last year. The BNP chief had been living in her Gulshan residence since then.
She was sentenced to a total of 17 years in jail in 2018 in two graft cases involving Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust.
