Three recently fired workers of a shoe factory stabbed their former human resource officer to death in Comilla EPZ.
The deceased was identified as Khairul Bashar Shumon, 32.
The victim was returning home on Friday afternoon when three recently fired disgruntled workers stopped him in front of EPZ gate and asked for an explanation as to why they were sacked.
A heated argument broke out between them over the matter. At one point, the employees stabbed Shumon with sharp weapons and fled the scene.
Locals rushed him to Comilla Medical College Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
Police suspect that the victim might have died due to excessive bleeding.
A case has been filed with the local police station over the matter.
