Hefazat leader Khaled Saifullah Ayubi arrested in Manikganj

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested another top leader of Hefazat-e-Islam in connection with the vandalism carried out by the organization's supporters across the country against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bangladesh visit last month.

Acting on a tip-off, a RAB team picked up Khaled Saifullah Ayubi, assistant secretary general of the Islamist group's central unit, from Singair upazila in Manikganj in the early hours of Thursday.

Ayubi has also cases filed against him with Paltan police station over the Hefazat mayhem in the capital on May 5, 2013, reports Bangla Tribune.

RAB's Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin said the Hefazat leader would soon be handed over to Paltan police station.
