ACC detains land official who made Tk4.47C

A vigilance team of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) detained a former additional land acquisition officer in Cox’s Bazar for amassing Tk4.47 crore, by misusing his power and paying people who created fake record of rights (Khatian).

The accused officer Bijoy Kumar Singh, now serving the same post in Khagrachari land office, was detained from the GEC circle in

Chittagong on Monday.

Sarwar Jahan, senior metropolitan magistrate of Chittagong, sent him to

jail after producing him before court in the afternoon.

Bijoy was transferred to Khagrachari land office in 2020 for his alleged involvement in irregularities and corruption in his previous service station at Cox’s Bazar district land acquisition office.

On March 10 last year, the ACC filed a case against him.
