Fishing trawler explosion in the Bay, death toll rises to 7

As of Friday, a total of seven fishermen succumbed to their injuries after being in a fire accident occurring under mysterious circumstances at a fishing trawler in the Bay of Bengal on February 27.

The victims were all undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka since March 2, according to multiple media reports.

The deceased were identified as Md Miraj, Belal Hossain, Meheraj Hossain, Md Milon, Abul Kashem, Md Ripon Majhi and Miraj Uddin Majhi. They were all said to be from Char Gazi and Char Ramiz unions under Ramgati upazila of Lakshmipur district.

On February 27, twenty-one people were injured in a mysterious explosion in a fishing trawler in Cox's Bazar area of the Bay of Bengal. 

At least 10 people, who received severe burn injuries, were admitted to Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka on March 2. 

Of them, two died last week Friday night, one on last Saturday afternoon, one on Monday afternoon, one on Tuesday night, one on Wednesday afternoon and one on Friday night, confirmed Tauhidul Islam Sumon, chairman of Char Gazi Union Parishad.
