Border Guard Bangladesh detained a man along with 1kg gold bars worth Tk46 lakh at Amrakhali under Benapole port police station.
Lt Col Selim Reza, Commanding Officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion told UNB that a BGB team arrested an alleged smuggler named Abdul Wahab from an easy bike after receiving information from sources.
After searching his body, the BGB team found 10 gold bars, each weighing 100 grams.
A case was filed against the alleged gold smuggler and he was handed over to Benapole Port police station following the incident.
