Police have recovered a bag full of national identity cards (NIDs) from a sidewalk in Sylhet.
A team of Sylhet airport police station recovered the identity cards at around 2am on Monday from Khasdabir area of the city.
Airport police station OC Khan Md Moinul Zakir confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said police were checking whether the NIDs are real or fake.
Rohan, a local resident, said he and some other locals first saw three bags abandoned on the sidewalk.
After looking into the bags, they found two of them were filled with clothes while another one was full of NIDs. They immediately informed the police.
Upon receiving information, police came to the spot and recovered the abandoned bag full of identity cards.
