A fire broke out at a market in Gazipur's Konabari town in the early hours of Saturday. No casualties have been reported, officials said.
Abdul Hamid, deputy director of Gazipur Fire Service, said the blaze started on the fourth floor of Excellent Super Shop Market around 4am. "The fire soon spread to other floors," he said.
Six fire engines rushed to the spot after being alerted by locals. "It took us nearly two hours to bring the blaze under control, around 6:30am. But at least two floors were gutted in the fire," the official said.
A probe has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of the fire, he added.
