3 kids among 4 die as jeep plunges into ditch in Bandarban

At least four people, including three kids, have been killed and over 30 injured after a jeep, popularly known as Chander gari, plunged into ditch in Mirinja tourist area under Bandarban’s Lama upazila.
The deceased are- Jahidul Islam, 10, son of Abdur Rahman, Sarwar, 11, son of Mohammad Shafi and Harun, 15, son of Badsha Miah of Nayapara ofAlikadam upazila and Monjur Alam, 42, of Cox’s Bazar’s Chakaria upazila.
Quoting locals, Lama police OC Anwar Hossain said: “The jeep plunged into roadside ditch when its driver lost control over the steering in the area around 12pm Monday.”
“The accident left three kids dead on the spot and 35 injured. The injured people were taken to Cox’s Bazar’s Chakaria Heath Complex and some other clinics initially,” he added.
“Critically injured 25 people have been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. One of them died on the way,” said Chakaria Heath Complex doctor Sharmila.
