2 Bangladeshis injured as BSF fires rubber bullets at Chapainawabganj border

Two Bangladeshi men sustained rubber bullet injuries from India's Border Security Force when they  illegally crossed Bivishon border region in Chapainawabganj, said BGB.

The injured were identified as Faruk Ahmed, 30, son of Amzad Ali, and Mozammel Hossain, 35, son of deceased Akalur, both hailing from Gomostapur upazila in the district.

Lt Col Ariful Islam, commanding officer of Naogaon 16 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) confirmed the matter.

BSF battalion 44 from Beldanga camp in Malda district of West Bengal shot rubber bullets at Faruk and Mozammel at 5am on Thursday, when the duo illegally crossed the border to bring cattle, the BGB officer said.

"We have heard that they are taking treatment secretly after the incident. A letter seeking details and protesting the incident was sent to BSF," Lt Col Ariful added.
