A man accused of brutally killing his infant daughter by slamming her on the floor in Narayanganj, was arrested by police on Sunday night.
The arrested Kamal Hossain, 28, had been on the run until police managed to nab him from Bholab area of Rupganj upazila.
Confirming, Rupganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudul Hasan said the girl's mother Khadija Begum filed a case soon after the incident that occurred earlier on Saturday.
The 26-day-old Meem, died on the spot when Kamal snatched her from her mother's grasp and slammed her on the ground, according to Khadija.

Khadija alleged that Kamal was expecting a son, with the intent of selling the child to a certain individual.
As they had a daughter Kamal's plan failed, and he started behaving badly with Khadija. Just about a week after Meem's birth Kamal made a failed attempt to kill Meem, Khadija further claims.
Police on Saturday sent the body of the child to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, OC Mahmudul said.
