Police have arrested 43 Jamaat and Shibir activists from a community centre in Ranirhat on the outskirts of Feni.
They were arrested from a program called 'Nabin Baran' organized at the Haq Community Center in the afternoon.
According to the police, the leaders and activists of Jamaat Shibir held a mass rally around 11:30am. Acting on a tip-off, they conducted an operation and detained 43 Jamaat Shibir activists on the spot.
However, at one stage, most of the Jamaat and Shibir activists fled after sensing the presence of police. Police recovered organizational books and leaflets from the spot.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Feni Model police station Mohammad Alamgir Hossain said the detainees were being interrogated.
Necessary legal action will be taken against them after interrogation.
