Idols vandalised in Gopalganj

Two idols of Hindu god Shiva and goddess Kali were vandalised at Kalibari temple under Borashi union council in Gopalgnj on Saturday night. Police and temple sources said Sabita Bala of Ghoshgoti village, a worshiper, who went to the house on Sunday morning, found the heads of Kali and Shiva idols lying damaged on the floor. On information, Selim Reza, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station went to the spot. Ranjan Kumar Biswas, chairman of the temple committee, said there was no previous record of vandalising idols in the area. Police had already started investigation into the incident, said the OC.
