At least five people were killed and two others were injured in different road accidents in Rajshahi and Feni on Thursday and Friday respectively.
In Rajshahi, a woman and her son were killed when a tractor hit their motorbike on Godagari-Nachole road at Kazipara Sautalpara in Godagari upazila.
The deceased were identified as Masuda Begum, 55, wife of Shah Alam, and their son Masud Hossain, 24 of Godagari municipality area. Masud was a final year student of a university in Dhaka.
The accident took place around 7pm on Thursday, when a Chapainawabganj-bound tractor carrying sand -- hit the motorbike, leaving Masud dead on the spot and Masuda injured, said Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bagha police station on Thursday.
Masuda died on the way to hospital. On information, police recovered the bodies and seized the truck.
Locals said Masud's newly married wife Pakhi Khatun fell sick and went unconscious several times in profound grief for her husband.
Masud's younger brother Rasel Ahmed said Masud was on his way to his workplace by his motorbike like every other day when the accident took him from them.
In Feni, two people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and an autorickshaw while another died as a covered van was hit by another of such a vehicle.
The deceased Md Zakaria and Ainul Haque were both passengers of the auto-rickshaw and Saddam Hossain was a driver's assistant of a covered van.

Md Zakaria and Ainul were killed as their autorickshaw collided head-on with a Dream Line Paribahan bus on the Daganbhuiyan-Bashurhat road in Daganbhuiyan upazila around 8am on Friday.
Three injured autorickshaw passengers were hospitalized from the incident spot, said Daganbhuiyan police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Imtiaz Ahmed.
Saddam was killed after his covered van was hit by another covered van on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Chhagalnaiya upazila early Friday morning, sources from police said.
In Comilla, a bus of Green Line Paribahan was burnt to ashes in a fire that started after it suddenly hit the brakes and was rear-ended by a covered van.
The incident took place in front of a CNG filling station in Jagurtali area on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in the early hours of Friday.
However there was no casualty as all passengers managed to safely move out of the bus, said Safayet Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Comilla Highway Mynamati police station.
"As a long tailback developed after the incident, Highway police worked for hours till 5am in the morning to clear the traffic. Initially, we don't think the covered van driver is somehow responsible for the accident and there was no such complaint from the bus authorities either, " OC Safayet added.
Road accident in Bangladesh is still one of the leading causes of deaths as 37,170 people were killed in 26,902 accidents across the country in the last five years.
