Police on Monday arrested a man for reportedly raping two sisters in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj upazila.
The girl's father on early Tuesday filed a case in connection with the rape which had taken place in Mizmizi Kandapara area on October 5.
Police accused has been identified as Abu Bakkar, 40, a building caretaker in the locality, at Kandapara where the girl’s were allegedly raped. The eldest sister is 14 years old, whereas the youngest is 12 years old.
Siddhirganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamrul Faruk said they are interrogating the man in connection with the incident.
The two sisters had a quarrel with their father on the night of October 5 and left their house, he said.

They sought refuge with Bakkar who gave them shelter at his house, as he was known to the girls.
He raped them later and fled the scene, the OC said.
The girl's father said: "I informed the building owner right after the incident but he had not helped us. When I went to the police with my daughters at that time they also had not cooperated.
"My daughter used to call Abu Bakkar, "Nana" (grandfather), as he is known to us and lives in the same area. He committed the heinous crime taking a chance on my daughter's trust."
Siddhirganj police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Alamgir said: "Although the incident took place on October 5, the family had been trying to go for a mediation with the building owner due to social stigma. But the building owner dismissed their complaints."
Locals informed the police on Monday night after they came to know the matter. Soon after, the law enforcers apprehended the suspect in a drive, SI Alamgir added.
