Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested five suspected robbers in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.
They were apprehended in Jadimora Omarkhal area early Monday.
The battalion personnel also recovered two foreign made pistols, eight bullets, and 40,000 yaba pills from their possession.
The arrested are -- Shah Jalal, 19, Md Khayer, 19, Helal Uddin, 23, Nurul Afsar, 22, and another Md Helal Uddin, 26 -- all are the residents of Hnila union of the upazila.
"Shah Jalal is an associate of Jokir, a Rohingya robber who is the ringleader of his gang Jokir Bahini," said ASP Abdullah Mohammad Sheikh Sadi, assistant director (media) of RAB 15.
He said acting on a tip-off that a yaba consignment was being unloaded in Jadimora Omarkhal area, a team of the battalion conducted a drive there.
They detained the robbers and seized the firearms, bullets, and yaba tablets, the RAB official added.
A case was filed at Teknaf police station in this connection.
