A woman and a nine-year-old child were raped in Cox's Bazar on Thursday.
In Teknaf upazila, a nine-year-old girl was raped reportedly by her teacher inside a local madrasa in Baharchaara union.
The girl has been admitted to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital with severe injuries, said the hospital's doctor, Dr Nowshad Riyad.
The girl's father said Moulovi Nurul Haque raped his daughter on Thursday afternoon inside the madrasa.
Teknaf police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman said police arrested Nurul around 9pm on Thursday. Police are interrogating him.
Separately, in Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila, a woman was allegedly raped after she arrived at a beach in order to meet her partner there on Thursday.
Police arrested Osman Sarwar and another person, from Laboni point of the beach, on the same day. The woman filed a case with Cox's Bazar Sadar police station accusing Osman of the rape.
Cox's Bazar Sadar police station OC, Munir Ul Gias, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
The woman has been admitted to the One Stop Crisis Centre of Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, OC Munir said.
