A woman and her infant child were killed when a bus hit a rickshaw-van on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Gopalganj.
The incident took place at the Milton Bazar area of Gopalganj's Kashiani upazila on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Mira Begum, 35, and her eight-month-old son Noor Md Kazi.

Kashiani police station Officer-in-Charge Md Azizur Rahman said the woman was on her way to her father-in-law's house by her husband's battery-run rickshaw van in the evening.
On their way a local bus from Gopalganj Sadar hit the van. The impact caused the child to fall on the road, killing him immediately.

Locals took the woman to Gopalganj General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead. Three others were injured in the accident.
