Altogether three people were arrested for reportedly raping and filming two molestation incidents in Comilla and Chandpur respectively, on Thursday.
The arrested were Foyez Ullah, 24, a college student in Comilla's Debidwar upazila; Md Yasin Hossain, 21, and Md Raja, 20, both of Uttar Kerwa village in Chandpur's Faridgonj municipality.
In Comilla, Foyez, accused in a case filed for raping an 11-year-old madrasa girl several times, was arrested from his home in the early hours of Thursday.
Police said they found a video of an initial rape, which the suspected rapist used to blackmail and rape the girl multiple times.
The case has been filed with Debidwar police station under the Women and Child Repression Act, by the girl's uncle, Md Shafiullah.
Confirming the matter, the police station's Officer-in-Charge (OC), Md Jahirul Anwar, on Thursday said Foyez has been sent to jail by the court. The court recorded the girl's statement in the afternoon.
On May 22, Foyez abducted the girl to his house when she was passing through the area, and raped her. He also filmed the incident, according to the case statement.
He then raped her a number of times over the past three months. He blackmailed her, saying he would put the rape video on the internet if she did not comply with his wishes. The girl's uncle filed the case once she disclosed the matter to her family.
In Chandpur, police arrested Yasin and Raja for assisting in the rape of a woman. One of them reportedly stood watch and another filmed the incident.
The accused rapist, Masum, 28, is currently on the run, said Faridgonj police station OC Abdur Rakib.
On August 20, Masum raped the woman while Yasin filmed the incident and Raja stood watch outside. The accused later threatened to make the footage public and kill the woman and her children if the matter was disclosed to any one, according to the complaint.
