A policeman has been arrested for allegedly raping a six-grade school girl in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari.
The arrestee Nazmul Hasan, 23, is a member of the Atol police outpost under the Dighinala police station.
Nazmul was produced before a court Tuesday afternoon.
Police say locals brought a complaint against Nazmul on Monday afternoon saying he raped a sixth-grade schoolgirl after abducting her to the woods next to the police outpost.
Police later recorded a case filed by the girl’s father.
Dighinala police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Uttam Deb said: “We produced Nazmul Hasan, the rape suspect, before the district court after taking necessary departmental action.”
