Jessore juvie clash: Autopsy reports of 3 murdered teens handed over to police

The autopsy reports of the three boys who were murdered at Jessore juvenile correctional centre have been submitted to the police.

The reports were sent to Jessore superintendent of police on Monday night, said Jessore Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Abu Shahin.

Regarding the cause of the deaths, Jessore General Hospital Supervisor Dr Dilip Kumar Roy said the boys died due to brain haemorrhage (bleeding in the brain); they suffered injuries to their head, back, and legs.

Asked about the matter, Inspector Rokibuzzaman, the investigation officer of the case, said: “I didn’t receive the report yet but I heard that it has been sent to the superintendent of police.”

On August 13, 18 inmate teenagers at the juvenile correctional centre were subjected to barbaric torture in the name of arbitration.

Three died from the abuse, while 15 were left with injuries.

Roka Mia, father of one the deceased teens, filed a case in this connection. Five employees of the facility, who were arrested and temporarily suspended, are currently in police remand. Eight teenagers involved in the incident were also arrested.

New supervisor appointed

Meanwhile, Zakir Hossain, the assistant director of the Department of Social Services’ regional training centre (Khulna), has been appointed as the new supervisor of Jessore juvenile correctional centre. He took office on Tuesday. 

The Department of Social Services Deputy Director (Jessore) Asit Kumar Saha confirmed the matter.
