2 held with phensedyl in Jhenaidah

Police arrested two alleged phensedyl dealers with 198 bottles of the contraband drug from Duttnagar area of Jhenaidah's Moheshpur upazila on Thursday.

The detained were identified as Ashraful Islam, 31, son of Abdul Hamid in Shaymkur village of the upazila and Nazmul Hossain, 25, son of Tayeb Ali of Bhabdia village in Jhenaidah Sadar, confirmed Muhaiminul Islam, additional superintendent of police (ASP)[Kotchandpur circle].

Acting on a tip-off that phensedyl would be smuggled by a car along the Moheshpur border, a team of police conducted a check post at a four-road intersection in Duttnagar, said Muhaiminul.

Police recovered 198 bottles of phensedyl when the car of the detained persons were searched and a case was filed in this regard at Moheshpur police station, added the ASP.
