Rohingya man arrested with 140,000 yaba pills worth 4.2C in Teknaf

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) apprehended a Rohingya refugee and seized from his possession around 140,000 yaba pills worth about Tk4.2 crore from Leda khal area in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.

Acting on a tip-off, a special patrol team of Leda BOP conducted a drive in the area Wednesday night and arrested a man with the contraband items, said a press release signed by BGB 2 Lt Col Md Foysal Hasan.

He entered Bangladesh from Myanmar by swimming across the Naf River.

The arrestee was identified as Md Arafat, 20, son of Noor Hossain of Alikhali Tulabagan Rohingya Refugee camp.

Later, he was handed over to Teknaf Model police station where he was sued under the Narcotics Control Act.
