The probe committee formed to investigate the killing of the retired major of Bangladesh Army, Sinha Md Rashed Khan, in Teknaf has officially begun their investigation.
The first meeting of the committee was held at the meeting room of Cox's Bazar Circuit House at around 11am on Tuesday.
Mizanur Rahman, head of the probe committee, and additional divisional commissioner of Chittagong, said the investigation will be impartial and transparent and they could not disclose any details of the investigation.
The committee formed on Sunday by the Ministry of Home Affairs is required to submit their report within seven days.

On behalf of the army, the committee includes General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Ramu 10 Infantry Division and another officer as a representative selected by the area commander in Cox's Bazar.
Additional deputy inspector general of Chittagong range Md Zakir Hossain is also on the committee on behalf of police
On Friday night, police shot retired Bangladesh Army major Sinha Md Rashed Khan reportedly for obstructing police work in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.
On Sunday, the authorities closed 16 police personnel, including the in-charge, of Baharchhara police outpost in connection with the killing.
